JOB PURPOSE

Supervise technicians in a specific area of specialized work to ensure conformance with established guidelines, methods, procedures and policies.

Accomplishes employee job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results and upgrading of employees through career and succession planning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

1. N6 electronics/ trade test
2. Management Diploma
3. 6-8 years experience as a Technician
4. 6-8 years experience in electronics (hardware and software) and IT (hardware, networks and software)
5. 3 – 5 years experience in a leadership role
6. PDS experience - advantage
7. Supervisory skills
8. Knowledge of company product
9. Good computer skills (Microsoft package)
10. Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act
11. Knowledge of training and supervisory techniques
12. Knowledge of company policy and procedures
13. Valid driver’s license
14. Own Vehicle

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical

1. Installation, repairing, certification and technical support of electronic products and systems to the highest technical and safety standards on the specified mine/s.
2. Set up and tests units to meet specified requirements.
3. Quality checks all work as per company quality policy.
4. Troubleshoot problems to determine root cause of issue and recommend a corrective action.
5. Ordering and maintaining of stock.
6. Responsible for the maintenance of the electronic equipment and software, according to company standards and if necessary send to head office for repairs and follow through until product has returned to site.
7. Reporting and recording further maintenance requirements.
8. Cost Control.
9. Controlling of technical employees rosters and follow up all are on site and if absent arrange replacements/standby.
10. Operates hand tools and small power tools and understand their use and function.
11. Any other reasonable duties given to you by your direct supervisor / Manager.

Support

1. Liaise with other technical employees, and customers on the site to support in ensuring quality and safety of work and that contractual obligations are met.
2. Keep supervisor updated of all unresolved and/or potential problems that would negatively affect the customer or our company.
3. Feedback on a regular basis to Technical coordinator and Supervisor.
4. Provides support to the coordinator on assignments and works in other departments and/or miscellaneous assignments as instructed.
5. Developing of customer relations.
6. Completion of required documentation, reports and paperwork for the mine, customers and Technical coordinator / Supervisor.

Health and Safety

1. Adhere to all customer safety regulations at all times.
2. Adhere to specific risk assessment before commencing daily tasks.
3. Ensure medical and inductions are valid.
