A leading provider of innovative chemical safety solutions is seeking a Chemical Risk Solutions Specialist to join their team. Our client is dedicated to helping businesses across various industries effectively manage and mitigate chemical risks. With a commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance, they deliver tailored chemical safety solutions using cutting-edge technology and industry expertise.
As the Chemical Risk Solutions Specialist, you will be responsible for driving sales and promoting chemical safety products. You will focus on identifying potential leads, organizing chemical safety presentations, and building and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the Gauteng region. This is a client-facing role that requires both remote work and travel.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license
- 2-3 years of experience in technical sales
- Willingness to travel and engage directly with clients
- Enthusiastic about sales, presentations, and client relationship management
- Chemical knowledge or background advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct online research to identify companies with potential chemical risks and add them to a shared master file.
- Drive through industrial areas to gather leads and use LinkedIn to find key decision-makers (e.g., SHEQ Managers, Site Managers, Laboratory Managers, Operations Managers, General Managers, Occupational Health Teams).
- Cold call or email potential clients to schedule chemical safety presentations.
- Maintain accurate records of all outreach activities and update the shared drive regularly.
- Deliver detailed chemical safety presentations, showcasing the benefits of the company’s products.
- Conduct live demonstrations using a PH meter and ensure you’re trained on safe handling procedures.
- Perform on-site surveys to evaluate chemical risks and provide recommendations.
- Prepare and send quotations and regularly follow up to close deals. Coordinate with the company's admin and procurement teams as needed.
- Organize business trips, including booking flights and accommodation when required.
- Provide comprehensive product training for existing clients every two years or when new employees are hired. Issue competency certificates after training completion.
- Schedule inspections to ensure clients comply with ISO 13485 medical device regulations, assessing product installations, conditions, and expiration dates.
- Complete ISO 13485 certification training provided by the company and adhere to all required protocols.
- Manage the company-provided vehicle or private car (with reimbursement) and ensure maintenance within the budget.
- Represent the company at conferences organized with international supplier support.
- Use the company credit card for authorized business expenses, keeping accurate records of receipts.
