Create and manage cost effective product formulations that positively contribute to our raw material and packaging (RMP) costs.
Continuously evaluate various raw materials that can be incorporated into the product formulations, with the aim to achieve a cost-benefit for the organisation.
Improve product performance based on market feedback, ensuring that customers’ expressed needs are met.
Ensure consistent product performance in order to maintain good levels of customer satisfaction and trust when purchasing plants products.
Work closely with the marketing and sales functions to contribute to effective new product development that anticipates and satisfies the needs of the market.
Lead projects to reduce RMP, align formulations and systems and support their implementation in cooperation with the purchasing and industrial teams.
Oversee the research and development of products whilst ensuring high quality, safety, environment and health standards are met, all while keeping costs to a minimum.
Investigate the validity of customer complaints and provide feedback to customers and the sales team.
Prepare for ISO9001 external audits and manage internal audits as per annual schedule.
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Total product quality pillars of the World Class Manufacturing process.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
The ideal candidate must have a university degree (BSc Chemical).
World Class Manufacturing Instructor - added advantage, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Production or Process discipline in a continuous process manufacturing environment, including 2 years’ experience in managing a team as an added advantage. This role requires a person with the ability to perform the Product Development Process (Stage gate or similar). The ideal candidate will need experience within WCM; ISO and SHEQ practices. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership and develop/deploy the Policy Deployment actions across the site, achieving optimum team and production performance.
Reporting through the Plant Manager, the Senior Process Engineer will understand the strategic objectives for the plant (through the Policy Deployment process) and translate this into a clearly defined Department action plan. The role will be accountable for the delivery of that action plan on a short-medium term timeline.
In addition, the Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the development of the Department team, actively encouraging through their own behaviour, an environment where people act safely and develop to their full potential.
