Job summary
A leading IT solutions provider in Johannesburg is seeking an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of the divisional IT environment. This hands-on role involves developing IT strategy, overseeing compliance, and managing a diverse IT landscape including servers and cloud platforms. Candidates should have proven experience with SYSPRO and Active Directory, along with a formal IT qualification. We’re looking for an experienced IT Manager to take full ownership of our clients divisional IT environment. This role is hands-on, strategic and operational ideally for someone who can align technology with business goals while keeping systems secure, reliable and cost-effective. This role requires Syspro, a non-negotiable.
- Develop and execute divisional IT strategy aligned with business objectives and the Group IT roadmap
- Define, implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, cybersecurity standards and disaster recovery plans
- Ensure compliance with IT governance, legal and regulatory requirements
- Oversee the full IT landscape: servers, networks, operating systems, hardware, software and cloud platforms
- Manage Active Directory, user access, credentials, permissions and virtual server environments
- Lead IT projects end-to-end, including system upgrades, migrations, BI implementations and new technology rollouts
- Control project scope, timelines, budgets, risks and stakeholder expectations
- Deliver tailored end-user training and ensure effective system adoption
- Prepare and manage the IT budget with a strong focus on cost efficiency and value
- Manage vendors, contracts, licensing and SLAs to ensure service quality and return on investment
- Proven experience managing enterprise IT platforms, including SYSPRO, networks, hardware, software and cloud technologies
- Strong networking and Active Directory expertise, including virtual server environments
- SYSPRO 8 Administration certification
- Microsoft SQL Server experience (SSRS, SQL Views)
- Basic SYSPRO customization (SRS and ODBC reports)
- Experience implementing Business Intelligence (BI) solutions
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated experience in IT security management and disaster recovery planning
- 5–7 years’ overall IT experience
