Our client based in Eastern Cape / Western Cape is a heating solutions company using renewable energy sources to produce process heat (hot air, hot water, steam, thermal oil).
Purpose of the Role:
The Human Resources Officer is responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR administration and operations (day to day), ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies. This role supports the company's growth by implementing effective HR strategies, managing employee relations, fostering a positive work environment and gearing for scaling of the company.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Degree/Diploma in Human Resources, Industrial relations or a related field
- Proven experience in HR, ideally in labour relations or related fields
- Knowledge: Understanding of BCEA, BBBEE, COIDA would be preferred
- Skills: Strong employee relations, dispute management and compliance skills sets.
- Software: Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Odoo) software.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes.
- Oversee leave administration (annual, sick, family responsibility, etc.) and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Process payroll-related information and liaise with payroll providers.
- Administer employee benefits programs (medical, retirement, etc.).
- Manage overtime tracking and reporting.
Policy implementation and Development:
- Implement and enforce HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in the development and revision of HR policies to align with legal requirements and best practices.
Employee Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR inquiries, policy clarifications and concerns.
- Address day-to-day HR issues and provide guidance to employees and managers.
- Mediate and resolve employee disputes and conflicts.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyse feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Oversight and preparation of Disciplinary matters internally and to liaise with any external consultant for special labour advisory.
Talent Acquisition
- Assist in recruitment and selection of new employees to support business growth.
- Oversee new hire onboarding and induction programs.
- Maintain a talent pipeline by working with hiring managers on workforce planning.
- Assist with recruitment of temporary or contract staff.
Training and Development
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs.
- Maintain training records and track employee development.
- Support employee development initiatives and skills development.
- Support BBBEE scorecard.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate HR/Training/ SHEQ/SDL/BBBEE records and documentation.
- Prepare HR/Training reports and analyses for submission to Labour department.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with local and international environmental regulations.
Payroll, Benefits and Compensation Benefits
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure all information inputted is accurate including new employees, terminations, time sheets, leave and any other extra benefits.
- Maintain a benefits schedule and manage accordingly.
- Co-ordinate benefit changes/updates internally and with service providers.
