Job Opportunity: Team Manager for SAIPA Trainee Accountants

This challenging opportunity within the dynamic environment of a longstanding firm of Chartered Accountants and Auditors involves managing a team of SAIPA trainee accountants, reviewing their work, and liaising with clients.

The incumbent will actively participate in advising, mentoring, and leading the accounting team of 5 to 8 trainee accountants.

The position is at middle management level, reporting to the Partner / Director, and requires an applicant of absolute integrity with excellent communication and leadership skills, ensuring the professional stature of the firm.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the following key result areas:

1. Bookkeeping to trial balance and monthly reconciliation.
2. Submission and completion of statutory returns (VAT, PAYE, STC, DWT and IWT).
3. Submission of tax returns via E-Filing (IT14 and IT14SD).
4. Calculation and submission of Provincial tax returns.
5. PAYE reconciliations via Easy File and E-Filing.
6. Preparation of financial statements according to IFRS for SME's – Companies / Close Corporations / Trusts / Individuals.
7. Responsible for measuring and implementing financial controls to minimize business risk.
8. Calculation of tax liability for Companies / Close Corporations / Trusts / Individuals.
9. Review of small and medium size private companies.
10. Management statements and accounts.
11. Various reconciliations (Debtors and Creditors).
12. Stock / Inventory reconciliations.
13. Preparation of fees, budgets, and quotations.
14. Review of independent review files.
15. Management of independent review teams and communication to clients.
16. Achieve team and individual budgets and business performance objectives.
17. Formulating professional development and educational plans for junior staff members (Trainees as assigned and rotated throughout a year).
18. Bi-annual merit evaluations for Trainees.

Inherent job requirements:

1. Strong technical knowledge and skills.
2. Good communication and interactive skills - proficient in Afrikaans first language essential.
3. Excellent problem-solving skills.
4. A valid driver's licence is an inherent requirement of the position as travelling to clients is involved.

R25- CTCAfter 3 months' employment access to a hybrid working policy: 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.
