Conduct inspections on welded structures and components to ensure compliance with applicable welding codes, standards, and specifications.
Review and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and material certifications.
Perform Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT), and Radiographic Testing (RT).
Monitor welding processes to detect potential defects and ensure adherence to best practices.
Document and report any deviations, defects, or non-conformances and recommend corrective actions.
Liaise with engineering and production teams to ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in welding and manufacturing operations.
Assist in the training and development of welders and quality control personnel.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and quality documentation.
Education : Matric (Grade 12) and relevant technical qualification in welding or metallurgy.
Certifications : Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent qualification (e.g., AWS, SAIW Level 1 or 2, CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2).
Experience : Minimum of 5 years in welding inspection within the mining, heavy engineering, or manufacturing industries.
