An international market leader seeks to employ experienced & ECSA qualified LMIs (LIFTING MACHINE INSPECTORs) for permanent employment based in Gauteng.
Certified LMI with ECSA (Specific Scope required: Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle required). To be responsible for the inspection and testing of lifting machinery at prescribed intervals. To be responsible for the inspection and load testing of lifting equipment in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety Act. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Min 3-5++ years experience in lifting equipment inspections and techniques. Knowledge of work of height machinery, lifting machinery & equipment. Industry specific knowledge i.e., mining, construction, light & heavy industrial. Knowledge of Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle equipment regarding operations, functions, technical functions, parts, and tools including a comprehensive understanding of hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical, electronics and technical schematics. The LMI reports to the SHEQ Manager. OHS Act and relevant SANS standards. Communicate compliance and non-compliance of lifting machinery to stakeholders. Compile and maintain inspection schedules. Explain and apply engineering skills in inspecting lifting machines. Comply with relevant legislation in the workplace. Adherence to ECSA Code OF Practice for Lifting Machinery Inspectors. Maintain / active LMI registration with ECSA. Inspect lifting machinery and equipment in accordance with regulations and required standards. Perform thorough inspection / load testing of equipment in prescribed manner. Prepare accurate field inspection report documents in accordance with company report templates. Maintain effective customer relations through service quality and timeliness. Responsible for the safe keeping and maintenance of assigned vehicle & equipment. EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS :
Grade 12. Certified LMI with ECSA (Specific Scope required: Forklifts & Telehandlers & Aerial Platforms & Lifting Tackle required). Valid Drivers License. Min 3-5 years++ experience in lifting equipment inspections and techniques. Position based in Johannesburg, local residency will be required. SKILLS :
