To report on inspections of Mineral commodities, in accordance with instructions received from Site Supervisor.

1. Train staff on site with regards to sampling
2. Administer risk assessments before inspection is done
3. Monitor field auditors and samplers in terms of the efficiency of activities carried out.
4. Check timesheets for Blu staff based on supervision of staff
5. Compile field reports, photographs and details summaries for all inspections and upload to SharePoint

1. Maintain quality, efficiency and confidentiality of service
2. Liaise with site supervisor and arrange efficient allocation of staff that limits overtime and promotes safety
3. Continuously upgrade the quality of services offered
4. Establish, direct and review the system of application, recording, certification, filing, sample storage and field auditing
5. Communicate with other sample preparation supervisors to achieve the required turnaround time for all submitted samples
6. Assign duties and assist when necessary in the coordination of shipments and other fieldwork.
7. Assign duties in coordinating and compiling spreadsheets of results, updating daily and reporting to client.
8. Assist in the efficient administrative running of the office as instructed by site supervisor
9. Implementation of cost control measures mainly with respect to proper allocation of staff and PPE usage on field
10. Liaise with warehouse and port personnel and arrange inspections
11. Ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection order (mission order and risk assessment)
12. Keep direct superior informed regarding progress and/or non-conformance. Implement needed corrective action.
13. Assist in continuously upgrading the quality of services offered, in support of the "Customer Services" policy and minimize client complaints and claims
14. General office duties
15. Proper implementation of SIR promptly and other SGS platforms needed for inspections
16. Attend to inspection operation of Mineral cargoes following International Standards and Company Q.A policies and mandate given by the principal
17. Carry out and/or supervise all weighing operations if required by the mandate
18. Ensure compliance with all the requirements of the inspection order
19. Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager
20. Train staff on site to achieve quality in inspection

1. Coordinate and report on inspections timely
2. Communicate with the client with accurate and honest findings from inspection
3. Guide and assist junior staff and samplers on site

1. 100% usage of SIR
2. Timely reporting of inspections
3. Little to no customer complaints
4. Execution of inspections in line with MO and RAM
5. Monitoring of staff time on site

1. Minimum Grade 12 (Matric), preferably with Maths and Science
2. Post-matric qualification in sampling and inspection services
3. Computer Literacy in Word and Excel, Microsoft Outlook

1. Minimum of 3 years of Trade related experience or similar
2. Languages: Proficiency in English (Read, Speak, Write)
3. Typing Skills
4. If the incumbent is new in the industry, background and qualifications shall be a criteria
