Job Description
Carry out a variety of duties related to Health & Safety activities which includes:
- Inspection and maintenance of all safety and fire-fighting equipment in the plant on a routine basis.
- Worksite / Project site inspection and stand-by duties.
- Implementing appropriate waste management practices and maintaining necessary industrial hygiene at the worksite.
- Effective implementation of Work Permit System and Work Management System (WMS).
- Regular inspection to ensure compliance with client HSE standards for Project activities, mainly Operation Safety (OS) standards.
- Reporting Site Safety Inspection / Audit findings to Safety Officer.
- Coordinating with Contractor Safety team to ensure compliance with client HSE operation safety requirements.
Desired Candidate Profile
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills:
- 4 years of safety and fire-fighting experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Good knowledge of Arabic and English.
- Good Communication and Coordination Skills.
- Valid UAE Driving License (desirable).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Job Specific Accountabilities:
- Inspect and maintain all inventories of safety and fire-fighting equipment to ensure operational serviceability and readiness during routine and emergency situations.
- Act as a back-up in emergencies to Plant Operations Division and the Das Island Fire Service in fire-fighting, gas cloud control, search and rescue operations, and administering first aid.
- Prepare the provision of standby facilities for hot work, naked flame work, vessel entry, etc., and carry out critical duties such as fire watch and breathing apparatus standbys.
- Conduct safety inspections of a variety of safety equipment under custody of HSE.
- Carry out plant loss prevention inspections to minimize potential accident losses, using specialist instrumentation to measure gas and radiant heat levels, reporting findings to Safety Officer.
- Conduct safety and fire drill demonstrations during training sessions, including administering first aid and using firefighting equipment.
- Assist Safety Officer in patrolling radiography work-sites and gas testing.
- Maintain and prepare training equipment and ensure readiness for training sessions and drill demonstrations.
- Assist in carrying out planned plant safety audits, housekeeping, and PPE surveys.
- Carry out other similar or related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate appropriate levels of knowledge and responsibility regarding Technical and Operational Integrity processes of AIRMS.
- Safeguard own Health and Safety, as well as that of fellow employees, by maintaining a safe work environment and complying with applicable HSE requirements.
- Take action to intervene and stop any unsafe activity or non-compliance with HSE requirements, if witnessed, and report the incident.

Training
- Provide on-the-job training to meet Competency-Based Training programs for UAE Nationalization.
Tool Box
- Maintain all tools, safety gear, and equipment provided by the company safely and in working condition.
- Arrange for repair or replacement of any tools and safety gear that may not be in good working condition.
Time Management
- Carry out all maintenance jobs in line with assigned time standards.
- Inform the Maintenance Supervisor if additional resources are required to carry out the job within the assigned time frame.

- Contribute to the identification of areas and opportunities for continuous improvement in operating procedures and functional processes.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
- Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legislation in line with international standards and client HSE Standards.
- Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
- Maintain the work environment clean and tidy before, during, and after executing the job.
Reports
- Collect technical data from the field as required and provide inputs to prepare Section progress reports for Company Management.
- Provide input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near Miss reports.
COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Daily contact/interface with all client Operations and Maintenance Departments and Contractor personnel.
- External: Frequent contact with Das Island Fire Services.
