Tyre Technician

The Tyre Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and installation of tyres for various vehicles. They will inspect tyres for damage, wear, and pressure, and recommend appropriate actions. The Tyre Technician will mount and balance tyres, align wheels, and perform rotations as needed. They will also handle customer inquiries, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

1. Inspect tyres for damage, wear, and pressure to determine the need for repair or replacement.
2. Mount and balance tyres using appropriate tools and equipment.
3. Align wheels to ensure optimal vehicle performance and tyre longevity.
4. Perform tyre rotations and recommend appropriate intervals based on manufacturer guidelines.
5. Handle customer inquiries, provide product recommendations, and explain tyre maintenance procedures.
6. Diagnose and troubleshoot tyre-related issues, such as vibrations or uneven tyre wear.
7. Repair punctured or damaged tyres using patching or vulcanizing techniques.
8. Maintain accurate records of tyre inventory, including tracking tyre usage and ordering new tyres as needed.
9. Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
10. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and assist in general shop maintenance.

Minimum Requirements

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience as a tyre technician or in a similar role.
3. Familiarity with tyre repair techniques and equipment.
4. Basic knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
5. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
