Job description
Your Opportunity

Help shape the future of healthcare in Alberta! Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking a dynamic, strategic leader for the role of Executive Director, Performance Reporting & Operational Review (Executive Director). Reporting to the Senior Program Director, Systems Strategy & Clinicial Excellence, and part of the Systems Strategy & Clinical Excellence team, the Executive Director leads AHS’ performance reporting and operational service delivery plans for clinical sites to ensure operational excellence. A systemic thinker and results-driven leader, you bring a deep understanding of healthcare systems and a passion for improvement and innovation. AHS’ Systems Strategy & Clinicial Excellence team is an integrated team focused on driving provincial and site-level initiatives, providing rapid response support to leaders, and developing proactive plans to ensure acute care facilities are operating at the highest levels comprised of the SWAT Team, Optimization Team, and Performance Reporting & Operational Review. This is a pivotal time to join AHS as we reimagine and refocus healthcare delivery. As a provincial role, this position’s location is negotiable within Alberta—giving you flexibility to design your ideal lifestyle. In a refocused healthcare system, AHS plays an integral role in delivering high-quality acute care services to more than 4.5 million people living in Alberta, as well as occasionally to some residents of other provinces and territories. We are a nation-leading hospital-based service provider operating 95 acute care facilities across the province and we are dedicated to excellence in patient care. Showcase your leadership skills at AHS, where we strive to foster an environment where patients, clients, and staff feel safe, healthy, valued, and supported.

Description: The Executive Director, Performance Reporting & Operational Review (Executive Director) is accountable for gathering and analyzing report card data provided by Acute Care Alberta for acute care sites. The role will require building close connections to acute care site and corridor leaders across the province to review data, identifying areas and opportunities for improvement, and determine where deployment of additional supports (like the SWAT team) is required for implementation of strategic and operational solutions. This role also determines plans for operational service delivery at the site-level in collaboration with site and corridor leadership. Skilled interpersonal and relationship building skills will allow the Executive Director to successfully partner with peers in the Systems Strategy & Clinical Excellence teams as well as leaders through acute care clinical operations to ensure regular and thorough operational reviews and timely response to report card data.
