The City of Chilliwack Public Works and Parks Operations Department requires 8 Labourer I (Time Duration) positions to assist the departments through reliable performance in semi skilled labourer duties.
- Perform non and semi-skilled labourer tasks as assigned.
- Assist with landscaping, horticulture practices, small tools, pipe laying and operation of small equipment such as line trimmers, mowers and leaf blowers.
- Operate and maintain equipment following practices and procedures; report any actual or potential safety risks.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, property owners and the public.
- Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in non and semi-skilled tasks associated with labourer duties.
- Courses and/or experience in landscaping, horticulture or related trades.
- Knowledge of practices and procedures for operation and maintenance of various equipment.
- Able to recognize and rectify and/or report on safety risks.
- Able to communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, property owners and the public.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
