About the Opportunity:
The Public Works Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a regular full-time Labourer II position. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, this role involves performing various manual tasks such as loading trucks, setting up traffic and pedestrian control signs, and directing traffic; forming, screeding, and finishing concrete; breaking and laying asphalt; digging trenches; laying sewer pipes; lifting and placing castings and pipes. As a Labourer II, the incumbent will use a variety of hand tools when performing manual labouring functions such as compressor, jackhammer, cement mixer, drills, concrete cut-off saw, tamper, and pipe cutter.
Our Preferred Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have their current and valid class 5 B.C driver’s licence. A class 3 BC driver’s licence with air endorsement would be a definite asset. The incumbent will preferably have two years of related experience as a labourer or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary: $31.80 hourly plus benefits
Hours per week: 40
