We are looking for an experienced, vibrant and dynamic Director, Business Development to support the Quantum and Nanotechnologies Research Centre. The Director would be someone who shares our core values of impact, accountability, leadership, integrity and collaboration. In alignment with NRC's overall vision and mission, the Director will be recognized as a business development professional passionate about research and development, with a keen understanding of the Canadian innovation system and its importance for Canadians. You will lead business development/client relations professionals supporting the NRC’s Quantum and Nanotechnologies Research Centre. The Quantum and Nanotechnologies Research Centre’s world-class research facilities combined with our expertise, focused strategic R&D and customized technical and advisory services, make the Quantum and Nanotechnologies Research Centre a partner of choice in developing technologies and accelerating their translation into competitive solutions that stimulate the sector’s economic growth.
The Director supports the research centre in attaining its research, revenue and collaboration objectives, and collaborates with other members of the senior management team including the Directors of Research and the Director of Operations in providing strategic leadership and support to the Director General of the research centre. The Director has a major responsibility in providing the Director General with in-depth business and client intelligence for the development of business and strategic plans.
The Director translates research centre and program strategies into attainable objectives and plans for client outreach and stakeholder engagement, balancing long term strategies with operational requirements. The incumbent is accountable for demonstrating impact to NRC’s stakeholders and for directing their team in securing external financial revenue at a level appropriate to support the research centre and its programs.

Degree in Science, Business Administration or Engineering from a recognized university. Preference may be given to candidates with an advanced degree in one of these areas of study and/or additional training in a related field.
