Product Lead, CIAM

Interac is seeking a Product Lead, CIAM (Customer Identity and Access Management) to lead the strategic vision, roadmap, and execution of our CIAM platform. This role is critical in ensuring secure, scalable, and seamless identity and access management solutions for Interac and its partners, including Financial Institutions (FIs), Credit Unions (CUs), and ecosystem participants.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep expertise in identity management, authentication, and authorization, capable of aligning business and security requirements while working closely with engineering, security, compliance, and external vendors (e.g., Transmit Security).
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership & Roadmap Execution:
- Own and drive the end-to-end CIAM strategy, ensuring alignment with Interac’s broader security and digital transformation goals.
- Define and execute a multi-year roadmap, balancing security, compliance, user experience, and business needs.
- Work closely with senior leadership, security teams, and product teams to advocate for CIAM as a foundational service.
Stakeholder Engagement & Vendor Management:- Act as the primary point of contact between Interac, Financial Institutions, Regulators and other partners, ensuring CIAM meets their evolving needs.
- Manage the relationship with Partners and Vendors, ensuring service-level agreements (SLAs), roadmap commitments, and ongoing enhancements are met.
- Facilitate executive discussions and risk assessments, addressing concerns from security, legal, and compliance teams.
Feature Development & CIAM Enhancements:- Work with engineering and security teams to define, prioritize, and deliver CIAM capabilities, including:
- Authentication & Authorization (MFA, SSO, OIDC, SAML, Federation).
- Risk-Based Authentication & Threat Detection (Fraud prevention, anomaly detection).
- Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) & Admin Governance.
- User Management & Self-Service Features.
- Ensure regulatory compliance (SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, etc.) is embedded into CIAM services.
Operational Excellence & Risk Mitigation:- Define KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics to track the effectiveness and adoption of CIAM solutions.
- Establish incident response processes and break-glass recovery mechanisms for CIAM.
- Lead regular security audits, penetration testing, and risk assessments to ensure platform resilience.
Delivery Management:- Oversee CIAM workstreams within the RTR program, ensuring timely delivery of requirements.
- Lead weekly CIAM development syncs, sprint reviews, and testing cycles with Transmit Security.
- Track and report delivery risks and dependencies to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
You bring:
- 5+ years experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM), CIAM, or Security Product Management.
- Deep expertise in authentication, federation, MFA, and role-based access control (e.g., OIDC, SAML, OAuth, SCIM).
- Strong understanding of financial services security, compliance, and fraud prevention.
- Proven experience working with SaaS-based CIAM solutions (Transmit Security, Okta, ForgeRock, Ping Identity, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams, manage vendors, and drive complex initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging technical teams, executives, and external partners.
- Proven knowledge of Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) processes, framework, policies and systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience leading efforts that require integration of multiple technology systems, operations, or customer service processes.
- Strong knowledge of CIAM principles, methodology, and technologies such as SSO, SAML, OAuth, SCIM, JWT, OIDC, MFA.
- Previous experience and knowledge with related 3rd party CIAM solutions and platform.
- Excellent communication & presentation skills.
- Previous product management experience in the following areas:
- Portal administration and entitlement capabilities, such as customer identity access management.
- Launching and scaling new products or product enhancements within an Agile framework.
