RESPONSIBILITIES:
Seek and interpret inputs from across the organization to build a production plan that will drive operational activity in line with the business objectives.
Develop requirement plans for plant to ensure the plant is operating in line with Afton’s planned requirements.
Develop and execute set-up of planning activities in the plant for new blending operations.
Manage the import and/or export of components or products to support the demand plan activities in other regions.
Manage inventory levels within target ranges for Raw Materials for unit-in-charge within plant. The aim is to have adequate material to maintain supply without increasing working capital costs at an acceptable level.
Maintain understanding & manage discussions of short to mid-term capacity availability and constraints of Raw Materials impacting plant.
Respond to changes in plan in a timely manner. In addition to updating material movement requirements, this should also include highlighting likely impact of these changes to the supply planning manager. This is to ensure that the impact of these changes are understood across local/regional/global teams.
Collaborate with planners in one’s own region and other regions to ensure coordination of shared global resources (such as plant capacity) and develop best practice procedures.
Be aware of, and support where necessary, other Supply operations within the region to ensure that Planning activities are aligned with Logistics and Procurement objectives.
Participate in weekly global planning meetings and provide a monthly communication of Plant/Unit updates. This will include providing reports on plans, capacity outlook, actions associated with product transitions and new product introductions & inventory. The aim is to use the meeting to communicate the progress of production plans that will roll up into a global production/inventory view.
Oversight and coordination of planning activities that is in line with regional/global business and manufacturing/operational requirements.
Drive and Implement Process Improvement/Simplification initiatives.
Lead & Implement Regional Scheduling Best Practices.
Manage and supervise activities of Senior Supply Planning Coordinators.
Support company quality and safety systems through day-to-day activities and via formal feedback mechanism.
