About the Role
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a range of critical functions that are integral to Curlec's success. Your primary areas of focus include Regulatory and Licensing, Process Improvement, Advisory, Risk Management, Governance and Controls, Audit, and Training. Here's a closer look at what the role entails:
Responsibilities
Regulatory and Licensing
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and internal policies and procedures.
- Act as a liaison for regulators.
- Develop and review policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports in accordance with regulatory requirements as and when required.
- Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations.
Process Improvement
- Evaluate processes from front to back to close potential risk and/or productivity gaps.
- Provide advisory on risk and regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
- Develop, implement and maintain a risk management framework.
- Undertake risk assessments to monitor the risk profile of the company.
- Ensure alignment with the parent company on risk management approaches.
Governance and Controls
- Establish and manage Curlec’s risk forum to ensure oversight over key issues and serve as key escalation point for all risk-related incidents.
- Track, monitor and drive the resolution of risk events.
- Document risk events, compliance obligations, and risks in their respective registers.
- Assist Senior Management in creating a culture of compliance.
Audit
- Follow up with departments on action plans for outstanding audit issues.
- Coordinate responses to external audits.
Training
- Conduct training on risk & compliance matters such as money laundering, fraud etc for all staff.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, or governance in a related industry, the IT industry, or the financial services industry.
- Knowledge and experience in financial crime, AML, CTF, fraud risk management.
- Able to lead and has strong stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to analyze information very well, has strong attention to detail, and has strong organizational skills.
- Able to be assertive as required, rationalize stances taken, and plan ahead in a constructive manner.
- Has problem-solving skills, acts with integrity, and has an investigative mindset.
