SCOPE OF SERVICES:
- Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of “Business Continuity Plans” (BCPs) implemented by the first line.
- Ensure that critical business functions are properly protected against potential disruptions.
- Evaluate whether the controls in place for business continuity are adequate and functioning as intended including reviewing processes for responding to disruptions and maintaining operational resilience.
- Review the first line's identification of continuity risks and challenge their assumptions or gaps in planning.
- Ensure they have properly assessed risks like natural disasters, cyber-attacks, supply chain disruptions, and other business interruptions.
- Oversee and validate the First Liners and BCM Coordinators “Business Impact Analysis” (BIA), “Business Continuity Strategies” (BCS), “Business Continuity Plan” (BCP) to ensure that critical business functions and processes have been accurately prioritized for recovery.
- Ensure that business continuity and disaster recovery plans are tested regularly, either through drills, simulations, or independent audits.
- Identify gaps between business continuity planning and actual organizational preparedness.
- Work with the First Liners and BCM Coordinators to close these gaps.
- Provide senior leadership with clear, concise reports on business continuity risks, control weaknesses, and the effectiveness of recovery plans.
- Make sure the Business Unit complies with regulatory requirements for business continuity.
- Foster a culture of awareness around business continuity within the Business Unit, particularly within the first line of defense.
- Continuously review and enhance the organization’s BCM framework, strategies, and policies.
- Work with the First Liners and BCM Coordinators to develop realistic disruption scenarios and ensure that the business continuity plans are robust enough to handle those incidents.
- Consolidate workflow process for digitalization of BCM.
- Support ISO 22301 process for selected Locations.
- Work with Group BCM Secretariat, First Liners, BCM Coordinators during Incidents, Emergencies, and Crisis as and when required during office and/or odd hours.
- Provide oversight and support to ensure that the crisis management team is effectively following plans and protocols.
THINKING ENVIRONMENT and CHALLENGES (PROBLEM-SOLVING):
Effective BCM is crucial to ensure that critical business operations can continue or be quickly restored during and after a disruption, minimizing downtime, financial impacts, and impact to stakeholders while protecting People, Environment, Assets, and Reputations (PEAR). The candidate must be able to:
- Coordinate between multiple senior leaders and stakeholders concurrently.
- Identify and resolve critical issues timely.
- Have working hands-on operational and technical knowledge of the Business; EHV substations, Gas or Coal Power-Plants, Hydro-Electric-Plants.
- Provide advice for all matters related to BCM in the Business.
QUALIFICATION and WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering.
- Prior experience in Risk Management and Business Continuity Management is an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of operational-and-maintenance or capital-project hands-on working experience with EHV substations, Gas or Coal Power-Plants, Hydro-Electric-Plants.
