Ideal candidates should have recent Acute Care experience, a valid nursing license, and a commitment to a community-based care approach. Full-time hours with a structured schedule are offered.
Do you have a passion for nursing? Do you want to extend your nursing knowledge? We have a training opportunity that may interest you! We are seeking a motivated Licensed Practical Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in the Operating Room department at Ksyen Regional Hospital.
In accordance with established vision and values of the organization, the Licensed Practical Nurse, Operating Room, provides practical nursing services in an operating room environment as a member of an integrated surgical team performing varied surgical interventions. Consults, confers, and collaborates with other members of the surgical team in facilitating safe and effective surgical interventions through the performance of scrubbing and circulating duties in accordance with established standards and protocols. This includes pre-operative, operative, and post-operative activities such as assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting client care, and providing support to clients and their families.
The Northern Health Regional Operating Room Education (RORE) uses a standardized, evidence informed on-line curriculum offered by the Association of Registered Nurses (AORN), called Perioperative 101. This curriculum is offered throughout British Columbia, contributing to a standardized provincial perioperative education program, along with provincial continuity of care and portability of practice. RORE combines AORN's Perioperative 101 online curriculum with a skills lab and clinical preceptorship to help prepare nurses to provide safe and competent perioperative nursing care in both the scrub and circulating roles, at a novice level.
Actual start date & hours of work varies as education is on-going throughout 2025/2026. Contact specialtyeducation@northernhealth.ca for info
