Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain the incinerator in a safe and efficient manner, following all safety protocols and procedures
- Monitor and record the incinerator's performance and report any issues to the Chief Engineer
- Ensure that all waste materials, including garbage, oily rags, and sludge, are properly segregated and disposed of in the incinerator
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of the incinerator to ensure its proper functioning
- Keep accurate records of all incinerator operations and maintenance activities
- Assist with other engineering duties as needed, such as general maintenance and repairs
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as an Incinerator Operator or in a similar role
- Knowledge of international regulations and guidelines for waste incineration at sea
- Familiarity with different types of waste materials and their proper disposal methods
- Basic understanding of marine engineering and machinery
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions
- Valid certifications and licenses as required by international and local regulations
