An opportunity has arisen for a Software Engineer Senior to join our Delivery International team in Kuala Lumpur.

The Software Engineer Senior will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, starting from soliciting requirements from external clients, estimating the effort, designing, coding, debugging, testing, implementing and validating applications whilst collaborating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. All deliverables are to be complied with programming standards and defined processes.

This person can grow their career by taking up the role as a Project Lead, to lead a group of highly skilled engineers to deliver BAU and major projects.

Key Responsibilities include:

1. Responsible to deliver the requirements under authorisation components, within expected quality, timeline and budget.
2. Adhere to company’s practices, coding standards, policies, procedures and methodologies.
3. Analyse the impact of the authorisation requirements to interrelated components and systems.
4. Perform unit testing and peer code review to ensure quality of deliverables.
5. Provide support to various testing phases - Quality Assurance (QA), User Acceptance Test (UAT), System Integration Test, Regression Test, Performance Test, etc.
6. Provide client training as required.
7. Provide support and guidance to other team members, remotely or in-office, when required.
8. Additional work outside regularly scheduled/ normal business hours may be required.
9. As a Project Lead, plan, monitor and track the progress and quality of the deliverables for the entire project team.

Essential requirements for the role:

1. Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in IT industry.
2. Educated to degree level (e.g. BSc, MSc, B Tech) in an IT related subject such as Computer Science or MIS.
3. C/C++ Programming fundamentals; knowledge and use of the major elements of the C language, for example, pointers and data structuring features, run-time library.
4. Working experience in Unix or Linux Platform from a developer’s perspective (perl scripting & make file).
5. Comfortable working with teams in remote location.
6. Ability to communicate with client and managing client’s expectations.

The following skills would be advantageous:

1. Database knowledge: Good in RDBMS database structure.
2. Familiarity with Payment Systems message formats.
3. Ability to convert business requirements into detailed technical specifications.
4. Passion to learn new technologies.
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Experience and certification in cloud, especially AWS.

Requirements:

1. Excellent spoken and written English communication skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely and to interact with both Business and IT partners to define, understand and evaluate business requirements and resolve issues.
2. Good time management skills, able to prioritise and progress several lines of work.
3. A self-starter, pro-active and able to operate under their own initiative.
4. Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal and relationship skills necessary to work with an integrated software development team.
5. Able to travel based on project when time permitted.
