Job summary
A leading technology provider in Greater London is seeking a NOC Controller to ensure the reliability of their global mobile satellite communications network. You will respond proactively to alarms, manage service outages, and contribute to continuous improvement by optimizing operational processes. Ideal candidates should understand satellite communication networks and have knowledge of relevant systems and protocols. Qualifications
- Good understanding of satellite communication networks, systems, and propagation.
- Knowledge of VSAT, Ka-band, L Band, and C bands.
- Familiarity with digital communication networks, protocols (IP, TCP, UDP, routing), and architecture (routers, switches, firewalls).
Responsibilities
- Proactively respond to alarms, minimising service outages.
- Promptly perform necessary actions to restore service during degradation or outage.
- Escalate incidents as per procedures and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
- Conduct regular checks on systems and services to ensure reliability.
- Monitor distress traffic in the network and take immediate action if needed.
- Identify opportunities for automation to enhance efficiency.
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
