Waterproofing QA/QC Inspector

Position Title: Waterproofing QA/QC Inspector

Role Summary:

The Waterproofing QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring all waterproofing activities comply with project specifications, standards, and codes. The role involves inspecting, monitoring, and documenting the application of waterproofing materials and techniques during construction to prevent water ingress and ensure long-lasting durability of structures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inspection & Monitoring: Conduct pre-application inspections of surfaces to ensure they meet the necessary conditions for waterproofing. Monitor the application of waterproofing membranes, sealants, coatings, and other materials. Inspect completed waterproofing works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
2. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, material testing, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). Prepare detailed inspection reports, including photographs and test results. Verify and document the use of approved materials and procedures.
3. Testing & Verification: Perform or coordinate waterproofing tests such as water ponding tests, adhesion tests, and leak detection tests. Ensure materials are tested in accordance with project and manufacturer requirements.
4. Compliance & Coordination: Ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g., ASTM, BS, or other standards). Liaise with construction supervisors, contractors, and consultants regarding waterproofing issues and resolutions. Participate in meetings and provide technical guidance on waterproofing to the construction team.
5. Problem-Solving: Identify defects, deviations, or potential failures in waterproofing works. Recommend corrective measures and follow up to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
6. Safety & Training: Ensure all waterproofing activities comply with site safety protocols. Train construction teams and applicators on proper waterproofing techniques and quality expectations.

Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor's degree in civil engineering preferred.
