Job Title : Design Lead – Hybrid Plant Controller

About the Role

You’ve spent the last decade designing smarter, more resilient renewable systems—now it’s time to lead them.

If you’re an expert in PV + BESS hybrid plant controls, thrive in grid-compliant environments, and want to take the next step by owning the design leadership of cutting-edge plant master controllers, this role is for you.

We’re looking for a Design Lead who brings deep technical expertise, team leadership, and a system-level mindset. You’ll be the technical driver behind the development, integration, and delivery of the Plant Master Controller (PMC) for hybrid renewable power plants.

• Architect and develop the control philosophy of hybrid renewable plant controllers—handling voltage, VAR, power curtailment, ramp rate, power factor, and black start functionalities.
• Ensure seamless integration of PMC with SCADA, EMS, substation control systems , and utility networks, while embedding cybersecurity features to meet grid and regulatory standards.
• Validate PMC performance to meet grid-forming, black start , and standalone restoration capabilities.
• Lead a team of engineers and draughtspersons through timely, high-quality engineering deliverables , vendor evaluations, and client approvals.
• Coordinate with internal AC design teams and external vendors to ensure design alignment , interface coordination, and spatial accuracy.
• Support project teams during execution phases , providing technical clarity and control integration expertise.

What You Bring :

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering.
• 7–10 years of hands-on experience in hybrid renewable power plant design—particularly PV, BESS, PMC, SCADA, and EMS systems.
• Strong technical grip on IEC 61850, Modbus, OPC, DNP3 , and other industrial protocols.
• Proven experience in power system controls , data historian analysis , alarm management , and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Prior exposure to Middle East utility regulations and compliance processes.
• Familiarity with project execution cycles, client engagement, and delivering engineering packages within time and budget constraints.
