Job Description
In the role of Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the corporate office. You will work closely with senior leadership to monitor financial performance, identify areas of improvement, and implement effective financial systems and controls. Your contributions will play a key role in shaping the company’s financial future while creating Treasured Time for guests through sound fiscal management and strategic decision-making.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
• Oversee the preparation of monthly operational reports.
• Maintain the books of accounts and enable periodic financial reporting of the Rotana sister companies and branches.
• Prepare and circulate consolidated financial results of the company.
• Provide financial analysis of the operational results.
• Identify financial trends and provide recommendations/suggestions to senior leadership. - Budgeting & Forecasting
• Lead the annual budgeting process.
• Lead the monthly rolling forecast process in coordination with other departments.
• Monitor and highlight variances between actual performance and forecasts. - Internal Controls & Compliance
• Maintain books and records of Rotana and sister companies.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and corporate governance, laws, and regulations.
• Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
• Prepare and update authority matrix of the company when requested by senior leadership. - Annual Audit
• Liaise and manage Internal Audit, External Audit, VAT Audit etc. of Rotana, sister companies and branches. - Corporate Financing
• Coordinate with various financial institutions for any financing arrangement that the company/the sister companies may have.
• Arrange all the documentation and other requirements to enable the financing. - TAX Compliance
• Maintain books and records in compliance with the various Tax regulations that are applicable to the company.
• Prepare and file periodical VAT, Corporate Tax and other filings.
• Maintain up to date information with various tax authorities.
• Coordinate with VAT consultants/authorities when necessary. - Legal Collaboration
• Review all the Agreements/Contracts that the company is signing in coordination with the General Counsel and other departments.
• Highlight areas of concern to senior leadership on any contractual terms. - Board Meeting and Annual General Assembly
• Prepare documents for periodic Board meetings and annual general assembly.
• Review the minutes of the board meetings. - Property Valuation
• Prepare the valuation of the company when requested by the senior leadership.
• Coordinate with various external valuation experts to conduct valuations for various sister companies/hotels. - Leadership & Team Development
• Lead and mentor finance team.
• Provide training on financial systems, reporting standards, and best practices.
• Ensure teams are briefed on all ongoing matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education, Qualifications & Experiences
You should be a college/university degree graduate with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role with preferable previous experiences in the Middle East. You must be computer literate with effective communication skills and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
