Job Description
We are looking for a finance controller for one of our clients based in Dubai, UAE.

The Financial Controller's role encompasses overseeing financial performance through reporting and analysis, advising the procurement team on purchasing costs, collaborating with the sales team to maintain margins aligned with business plans, managing warehouse inventory, ensuring comprehensive statutory compliance, conducting regular reviews with the Operations team, addressing variances vis-à-vis the budget with corrective actions, and ensuring adherence to financial statutory requirements and audit processes.

1. Timely preparation of monthly management accounts as per Group requirement (Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly).
2. Closure of books of accounts, reconciliation of bank, debtor, creditor, and stock.
3. Preparation of yearly budget.
4. Receivable and payable management.
5. Fund management and preparation of cash flow.
6. Currency management.
7. Control over cost against budget.
8. Liaison with company auditor to finalize yearly statutory accounts, annual returns, and other allied work.
9. Entire gamut of Treasury Function viz credit facilities.
10. Cost analysis and reconciliation of cost accounts with financial accounts.
11. Timely preparation of daily, monthly, and quarterly MIS.
12. Analysis of financial information and highlight the unusual variations/trends.
13. Keep a close eye on credit control function.
14. Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
15. Correspond with various other departments discussing company plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken.
16. Accept responsibility for resolving a problem to its conclusion.
17. Assist in the achievement and the ongoing improvement of business results.
18. Show dissatisfaction with poor performance and drive processes to achieve business goals.
19. Strive to achieve agreed deadlines and standards, especially when the going gets tough or the anticipated situation changes.
20. Apply a systematic problem-solving approach to identify causes, explore alternatives, and recommend the best course of action to resolve the problem now and into the future.
21. Remain up to date in your area of specialty or expertise.

26. Share the technical implications of a situation with non-specialists or explain it to them.

Education: Chartered Accountant (CA)
Experience: 8-10 years of experience in total. UAE experience is mandatory; candidates from the agri-commodity industry will be preferred.
Skills:

• Hedging and FX strategies.

• Understanding of extremely dynamic prices of products like cashews and cocoa from various procurement hubs.
• Understanding of end-to-end cost and margins.
• Working knowledge on platforms: Tally, ERP, Microsoft Navision, Pastel (implementation).
• Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Banking system.
• Basic knowledge of company secretary function.
• Knowledge of audit compliance requirements.
• Speak English clearly and confidently, i.e., must be articulate.
• Listen actively to fully understand the other person's view or perspective.
• Tailor feedback to the specific needs and communication styles of others.
• Prepare effective presentations and, where required, concisely present/communicate a complete and accurate picture of the current situation or of the company’s products and services.
• Develop and maintain two-way communication with a variety of people at different levels both within and outside the organization.
• Suggest proposals to address vital concerns and important business issues; and build a network of relevant role players both within and outside the organization.
