Revenue Controllers are responsible for the production and processing of draft and final bills in the Finance system, transferring and writing-off time, disbursements and the issuing of credit notes and reissuing bills.
They are also responsible for e-Billing and the production of client schedules. In addition, they are responsible for managing the change of client rates and monitoring file set-up. In general, the Revenue department’s function in the Middle is to maximise the speed with which work in progress (WIP) is turned into bills for the Middle East offices.
The Revenue team is responsible for the WIP and billing for all practice areas within Middle East offices. The team is also responsible for the general housekeeping of WIP and the production of various reports for internal and external clients.
Whilst the role is based and is focussed on supporting the Abu Dhabi office, the role holder is required to support the wider regional Finance team as required.
The role has a clear focus on revenue and managing billings but it is anticipated that the incumbent will be take on additional responsibilities, namely in Credit Control to support the needs of the business.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Engrossment of bills, ensuring that Partner and Revenue Controller instructions relating to
processing and allocation of fees and disbursements are carefully actioned
- Ensuring any time not entered or costs not included in the proforma is brought to the attention of the responsible staff and ensures that billing guides are duly signed off by the billing partners or authorized representative
- Prompt write off and transfer of time etc.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries relating to proforma bills from Partners, Fee Earners and PAs
- Issuing of credit notes
- Providing general support and advice with regard to problems relating to proforma issues within the Revenue Department
- e-Billing
- Providing detailed financial information in support of bills i.e. hourly schedules and disbursement breakdowns
- Preparation of client detailed schedules on weekly/monthly basis as required
- Drafting narrative in support of bills if required
- Monitoring the Matter Maintenance issues/queries and dealing with requests to ensure all files record the correct detail at inception
- Updating and maintaining database information as necessary
- Responding to requests and entry of requested rates by the billing partners or manager both at matter and client level
- Collation of schedules in support of pseudo client rates and responsible for requesting to set-up pseudo client rates within the Finance system and implementing the same
- Managing change of client rates
- Handling engagement letters.
- Mubadala central billing and billing queries support
- Involvement in ad hoc reports and projects
