The Role:

Ensure general accounting is managed in accordance with accounting principles and comply with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards. Ensure compliance with IFRS, local legislation and Sandvik processes and regulations in the general accounting area.

The candidate will provide support to the Finance Manager by performing operational finance functions across all reporting and legal entities.

Job Description

1. Is responsible for developing the ways of working in the general accounting area
2. Review and manage financial reports and accounting statements to ensure their accuracy
3. Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts
4. Manage internal and external audits
5. Prepares, records, analyzes and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles
6. Provides financial control support to Business control on forecasting activities and BPC reporting
7. Prepares separate and consolidated financial statements for the group
8. Prepare technical opinions on complex accounting matters
9. Support the tax department on financial information and tax submissions
10. Maintain the fixed asset register and all related systems and policies thereof

Minimum Skills and Qualifications:

1. Newly-Qualified CA (SA) or 1 year post articles experience
2. Office Suite Literacy
3. English proficiency
4. Professional, energetic, dynamic and positive team player with great business acumen
5. Ability to work well within a high-pressure environment
6. Must be able to liaise on all levels in the organisation
7. Willing to work extended hours during financial reporting cycles as well as during ad hoc reporting periods.
