About the Role Level - 6
Department- Risk
Location - London or Southampton
Contract - Permanent
This role will lead the following areas of Risk activity across the Affluent segment and Corporate Functions, leveraging support from other Risk teams where required:
- Manages the Risk business partnering team who interact with key stakeholders across the Investments, Financial Planning, Wealth and Platform divisions of Quilter, as well as Corporate Functions;
- Design and execution of risk appetite, working closely with the Group Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Head of Prudential Risk Management as a management team in driving a joined-up approach across the 2nd line of defence (2LOD);
- Evaluates overall risk profile assessment and assesses key messaging for risk reporting, having the ability to step back from the detail and align to the company’s vision and strategic plan;
- Annual Business Plan review, risk assessments and related deep dives, including involvement in Merger & Acquisition (M&A) activities;
- Assessment of emerging risks and competitive landscape, with a strong lens on the UK wealth management sector;
- Transformation and change program oversight, including third party risk management oversight, and technology risk management oversight;
- Business relationship management as a trusted business partner to the material risk takers (MRTs) in Quilter;
- Supports/challenges business on risk strategy development and strategy execution within risk appetite parameters;
- Conduct focused risk deep dives as appropriate, or instructed by the Risk Director or Group Chief Risk Officer;
- Assist the Group Head of Enterprise Risk with the facilitation of analysis of RCSAs and Risk Events;
- Assist the Prudential Risk team in the design and modelling of Operational Risk scenarios, stress tests and wind down plan; and
- Work closely with Head of Compliance Advisory and Head of Compliance Monitoring to ensure Risk & Compliance have a mutually aligned approach to control environment improvements at Quilter.
About YouTo be successful in this role you will be proactive, organised, and diligent with good attention to detail and analytical skills. You will be persistent to persevere to get the right outcomes and curious, with a desire to ask questions, to absorb information, to learn and be able to apply learning to risk management in the business.
You will have:
- Significant experience gained within large scale, multinational financial services organisations.
- Significant knowledge of EU, PRA and FCA risk management expectations including Solvency II, CRD IV and specifically ORSA and ICAAP experience.
- Experience and knowledge of the regulatory environment within the UK and internationally of the wealth, life and/or asset management sectors.
- Experience and knowledge of best practice risk and governance frameworks, methodologies, emerging practice and risk management systems and controls.
