THE POSITION
In support of our growing team, we’re hiring a Manager of People and Culture to join our small but mighty People and Culture (“P&C”) team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in aligning Maple’s HR strategies with business objectives, ensuring that our HR initiatives not only support but also drive business success.
As a strategic HR partner, you will work closely with business unit leaders to embed HR practices into our overall business strategy. This position is a unique blend of HR business partnering and operational leadership, where you will serve as the primary HR contact for designated business units, which will include advising on employee relations, workforce planning, and change management while also overseeing critical operational HR functions such as benefits administration, payroll, and office management. Your goal will be to ensure these processes are efficient and compliant and contribute to an exceptional employee experience.
As a leader who inspires, you will manage and mentor a small team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring their efforts are aligned with both HR and business strategies. Additionally, you will lead strategic HR projects that support Maple’s growth and reinforce our company culture, including diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement surveys, and culture-building activities.
Critical to your success in this role will be your ability to develop and execute HR strategies that align with business goals while driving operational excellence and delivering results. You will mentor and inspire a high-performing HR team that meets Maple’s evolving needs. By leveraging data-driven insights, you will guide decision-making and present strategic recommendations to leadership, shaping HR policies and procedures that adhere to best practices and legal standards. Your business acumen and stakeholder management skills will ensure that HR initiatives support the overall success of the organization.
12 – 18 MONTH DELIVERABLES
Within the first 90 days, you will have conducted a comprehensive assessment of our current HR processes, policies and tools, identifying gaps and areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Additionally, you will engage with business unit leaders to gain insights into their HR needs and employee relations dynamics.
Over the next 12 to 18 months, you will lead the implementation of strategic HR initiatives, achieving measurable improvements in key HR metrics. This includes reviewing and updating HR policies, driving improvements in employee engagement, optimizing HR systems for better data accuracy, and building a high-performing HR team. Your success will be measured by improvements in employee satisfaction, retention, diversity, and inclusion, along with your ability to influence business strategy.
