You bring about 5 years of experience in Salesforce development, with expertise in designing custom workflows, Lightning components, Apex code, and integrations that enhance user experience and system efficiency. Skilled in gathering and translating business needs, you create tailored Salesforce solutions that seamlessly align with organizational objectives. Your technical proficiency spans both development and administration, enabling you to manage permissions, user roles, and configurations while ensuring data integrity and compliance with security standards.

About the Position
The Senior Business Analyst & Developer (Salesforce) at Vancouver Foundation is a vital role dedicated to advancing our Salesforce platform to meet strategic goals and community needs. Reporting to the Director of IT, you’ll lead the design, development, and maintenance of customized solutions, ensuring that Salesforce serves as a powerful tool for enhancing organizational processes and user engagement. This role includes managing Salesforce Experience Sites, automating workflows, and supporting the integration of third-party applications for seamless data flow and collaboration.
In this position, you’ll also drive efforts to internalize Salesforce expertise, reducing reliance on external partners by building in-house capabilities. Your contributions will directly support our mission by enhancing efficiency and alignment within Vancouver Foundation’s IT systems. Main Responsibilities
Salesforce Development and Maintenance
• Manage ongoing administration tasks such as user management, permissions, role hierarchies, and configuration of Salesforce features, ensuring system integrity and optimal performance.
• Lead Salesforce-related projects, from planning to execution, including system upgrades, custom developments, and new feature rollouts, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
• Ensure all Salesforce developments comply with organizational standards and industry best practices, particularly regarding data privacy and security.
• Provide advanced technical support for Salesforce issues, debugging code, and troubleshooting system problems to maintain smooth operation of business processes.
UX/UI Design
• Design, develop, and implement custom Salesforce solutions, including workflows, Lightning components, Reports, Dashboards, and Visualforce pages to meet the Foundation’s needs.
• Lead the maintenance and development of Salesforce Experience Sites, ensuring seamless functionality, user engagement, and alignment with Vancouver Foundation’s strategic goals: Enhances user experience and site functionality.
• Deliver training and documentation on Salesforce usage, best practices, and new features to end users, ensuring full adoption of system enhancements: Supports user adoption and ensures the designed solutions are effectively utilized.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather user feedback and implement design improvements: Focuses on enhancing the usability of Salesforce solutions based on user needs.
Integration and Stakeholder Collaboration
• Partner with internal IT and technology vendors to design, implement, and support integrations between Salesforce and other platforms to ensure seamless data flow and collaboration across systems (e.g., third-party applications, data migration).
• Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze gaps, and identify improvement opportunities, while implementing Salesforce solutions that enhance workflows, improve user experience, and drive organizational efficiency.
AI and Data Governance
• Support AI and data initiatives by leveraging Salesforce’s analytics capabilities, ensuring accurate data capture, and assisting in data governance activities.
• Collaborate with data stewards to maintain data integrity.
• Develop and implement strategies to internalize Salesforce expertise, reducing reliance on external Salesforce partners by building in-house capabilities and ensuring long-term sustainability of the platform.
Desired Experience/Education/Skills
• About 5 years of experience in UX/UI design experience with significant time spent designing for the Salesforce platform.
• Salesforce Certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Administrator, Salesforce Platform Developer I/II) preferred.
• Solid knowledge in Salesforce CRM and Salesforce Fund360 (Finance/Accounting).
• Strong development skills in Apex, Lightning components, Visualforce, and declarative programming on the Salesforce platform.
• Experience in integrating Salesforce with external systems via APIs (REST/SOAP).
• Experience with Salesforce’s Non-Profit Success Pack.
• Experience with Salesforce Experience Site.
• Proven ability to gather and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, including configuration, custom development, and third-party integrations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience working in an agile environment and leading projects that focus on Salesforce solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and deliver training to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong understanding of IT governance, data privacy, and security practices, especially as they relate to Salesforce.
• Experience in charitable foundations, nonprofit sector, or social sector environments is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with accounting and/or general ledger solutions in Salesforce is desired.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology.
Salary
$104,000 annually plus pension and a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Hours of Work
Modified 35-hour work week, primarily Monday to Thursday, occasional Fridays.
Location
