Position Overview
The Architectural Technologist plays a pivotal part in the production and coordination of technical working drawings, preliminary 3D modeling, and rendering development. The Architectural Technologist will also assist in overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of our project development, design, and construction phases to ensure timely and efficient completion.
Working closely with our Interior Design team, the Architectural Technologist will contribute to a variety of exciting projects in hospitality and residential sectors, delivering innovative and high-quality design solutions. Salary range: $55-80K, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning
- Provide support for projects.
- Provide necessary support to Interior Design & Development Managers for project due diligence, which includes:
- Project Site context reviews
- Produce interior schematic space plans & 3D visuals during the DP stage
- Assist in the planning and scheduling of project phases to meet established timelines and deliverables.
- Interior design schematic 3D development and coordination of 3D visual production with third party 3D visual consultants.
- Interior design coordination with business development (Sales) team for drawings, plans, & 3D visuals.
- Project Contract Documentation and Contract Administration
- Efficiently manage Interior Design Contract Documents and oversee on-site coordination.
- Understand and responsible for project schedules and milestones deliverables based on project Design Briefs.
- Coordination with Senior Interior Designer, Development Managers and project consultants for interior design drawing preparation and completion of Contract Documents & Specifications.
- Attend consultants meeting as required for projects ensuring efficient progression for Interior Design drawing production to meet timelines established for project.
- Monitor project progress and provide updates to the team, identifying and resolving any technical issues that arise.
- Production of Interior Design Contract Documentation including, working drawings coordination of specifications and preparation for issuance and reviewing consultant’s issued DP, BP, IFT & IFC documents based on the project schedule.
- Ensure all documentation aligns with project scope, design intent, and applicable building codes and standards.
- Identify challenges during the design and construction phases and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Explore innovative materials, technologies, and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and design quality.
- Assist in the preparation of tender packages, schedules, and specifications.
- Interior Design drawing review, coordination, contract administration and management with Basecamp’s Construction team or General Contractor for RFI’s, Site Instructions, Change Orders and tracking as required.
- Interior Design site visits and reviews with Construction team to ensure production is based on the intent of the Contact Documents.
- Interior Design close out documentation including deficiency lists, future PIP and as-built documents for Basecamp’s standard project packaging.
- Stay informed on industry trends, technologies, and updates to building codes and standards.
- Contribute to team knowledge-sharing initiatives to enhance overall project quality.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to expand technical expertise and design proficiency.
Requirements
- Education Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional association.
- Experience Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience working in a planning and development, project coordination, or architectural design/drafting role, preferably in the mid to large scale multi-family and hospitality development field.
- Previous experience working on interior design projects, including renovations and new builds, is an asset.
- Strong base of construction knowledge for mid to large scale developments.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building practices is desirable.
- Software Requirements:
- Exceptional knowledge base and skill with AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to produce 3D renders – Sketchup, Revit, Lumion, Enscape, V-Ray, or equivalent.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, and or Bluebeam & Adobe creative cloud programs.
- Position Requirements:
- Possess strong organizational skills, key attention to detail, excellent computer skills, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent planning, prioritizing and ability to work under to meet set deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively engage with coworkers, consultants, and any other team members to ensure projects remains on course and schedule.
