Where does the HR Coordinator fit in?
The HR Coordinator will lead various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and policy development. This role will also provide administrative support and act as a backup for payroll processing, ensuring smooth HR and office operations.
What you can expect as our next HR Coordinator:
- Champion full-cycle recruitment - Draft and post job descriptions on platforms such as UKG, Indeed, and LinkedIn.
- Screen candidates, conduct interviews, and facilitate offer negotiations and onboarding.
- HRIS Management (UKG is an asset) - Maintain employee/training records, upload documentation, and submit/manage system tickets as required.
- Process leave requests, manage return-to-work plans, and address employee concerns while ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Disciplinary, accident & incident management - conduct investigations and complete required documentation; manage WSIB claims.
- Process terminations, obtain package approvals, and manage offboarding procedures.
- Conduct exit interviews and compile feedback for improvement.
- Manage JHSC monthly meetings and maintain meeting minutes.
- Interpret and provide guidance on compensation and benefit programs.
- Act as a backup for payroll processing.
- Oversee the coordination of employee performance appraisals – probationary and annual.
- Support with turnover, headcount, and recruitment metrics.
- Assist in planning and coordinating corporate events and activities.
- Attend visitors at reception and provide assistance as required.
- Order office supplies as required.
- Coordinate employee travel requisitions, including drafting travel letters and liaising with Travel Agency.
- Other duties as assigned.
Do you have what it takes to be our next HR Coordinator?
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or related field.
- 2-3 years of HR experience; CHRP designation or in progress is an asset.
- Experience with HRIS platforms (UKG or ADP preferred).
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office with excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Team player and problem solver, with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.
