Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Librarian to join our team in Durban North. As the Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's library, ensuring that all resources are easily accessible and up-to-date. You will also be responsible for providing research and reference services to our employees and clients. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and organize the company library, including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining inventory of materials - Develop and maintain a system for tracking and circulating library materials - Conduct regular audits of the library collection to ensure accuracy and relevance - Assist employees and clients with research and reference inquiries - Collaborate with other departments to identify and fulfill information needs - Stay updated on industry trends and developments to ensure the library collection remains current and relevant - Train and supervise library assistants and volunteers - Plan and organize library events and workshops - Maintain the library budget and make recommendations for new purchases - Develop and implement policies and procedures for the library - Promote the library and its resources to employees and clients - Keep accurate records of library usage and prepare reports as needed Qualifications and Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field - Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting - Strong organizational and time-management skills - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient in library management systems and cataloging software - Knowledge of library best practices and trends - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Attention to detail and accuracy - Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously - Passion for learning and promoting information literacy Contract Details: This is a full-time, permanent position based in Durban North, South Africa.
