Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the unit in achieving the set production targets by adhering to the systems and processes. Each day, you will use machinery and equipment on the shop floor. You will also showcase your expertise by reading and interpreting the technical diagrams/instructions for assembly of products/systems/panels. The work model for the role is: Onsite. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.
- Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.
- Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.
- Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.
- Demonstrating ABB’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and acting accordingly.
- Implementing and ensuring compliance with the ABB code of conduct, global and local standards, tools, policies, and processes in their assigned area.
- Ensuring adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.
- Ensuring integrity and compliance with ABB values and ethics in all activities.
- Demonstrating an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting, and risks.
- Ensuring adherence to the collaboration objectives of the team to maximize results for ABB.
- Leading their own development journey by seeking knowledge and learning opportunities within the team.
- Managing relationships with stakeholders in their own area of responsibility and ensuring alignment.
Qualifications for the role
- Matric and tertiary qualification
- 2-3 years of assembling experience in similar industry.
- Good command over English language.
- Technical & Engineering Skills
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of inventory control
