Scene Connect is delighted to help support the delivery of retrofit and decarbonisation in Wales and Scotland over the next 4 years. Scene has been appointed to provide consultancy support on energy policy, strategy and grant funding support for retrofit and decarbonisation for mid-Wales and across all regions of Scotland. The framework supports local authorities, housing associations, education and other public sector organisations in delivering a range of energy efficiency and decarbonisation works - helping them with the challenge of achieving net zero and improving the building performance of their stock.
Scene is well placed to support the public sector at this critical phase in the decarbonisation of our buildings, as Energy Performance Certificates are reformed and we transition away from oil and gas for domestic heating. Scene brings a wealth of consultancy experience supporting communities to develop clean heat transition strategies over the last decade, as well as expertise in retrofit assessment and recommendations, providing practical advice to homes and businesses from our accredited PAS 2035 and PAS 2038 practitioners.
Alex Schlicke, Scene Director, said:
"As reflected in the EPC reforms, there is a pressing need to ensure energy efficiency works are not simply an exercise in standards compliance, but help make homes healthier and more affordable, as well as better for the environment. We need to always consider how people live and work in buildings to identify the best approach to deliver overall building performance, and at Scene we have been developing specialist software for building performance modelling which is being used in the market leading Shared Works platform, and have a deep understanding of the interaction of the different factors which affect energy use, environmental quality and overall affordability. We look forward to being able to help the public sector in decarbonising the built environment and hope that we can play our small part in ensuring the transition to net zero leaves no one behind."
