30586 - SENIOR ECONOMIST

At Eni, we are looking for a Senior Economist within Liverpool Bay CCS Limited in London, UK. You will support LBCCS and other Eni's CCS entities by developing and maintaining financial models, conducting economic evaluations, and providing strategic insights for investment and commercial decisions. You will ensure regulatory compliance by updating models for reporting, project financing, and lenders. You will implement new economic models for emerging businesses, work closely with regulatory bodies and senior management, and optimize economic outcomes. Additionally, you will aid in strategic planning, investment proposal preparation, and the ceiling test process, ensuring alignment with Eni guidelines and methodologies.

As a member of the Finance department, you will be responsible for:
  • Developing and maintaining financial and economic models for project economics, cash flow forecasting, and valuation.
  • Updating models for regulatory and lenders reporting; contributing to periodic reporting.
  • Conducting cost-benefit analysis and financial impact assessments.
  • Analyzing impact of regulatory changes, market conditions, and economic policies.
  • Collaborating with regulatory bodies to influence policy and regulatory decisions.
  • Developing CCS economic models and participating in negotiations with Government Authorities.
  • Performing economic and financial analyses to support new initiatives.
  • Providing support for economic evaluations, ensuring compliance with Eni methodologies and procedures, regulatory and lenders' requirements.
  • Coordinating investment approval and monitoring activities.
  • Contributing to the set-up of the Charging System Platform and commercial framework for the CCS business.
  • Contributing to developing the CCS business model in line with market trends.
  • Supporting business planning, including the Business Plan, 4-year plan, annual Budget, and Forecast.
  • Monitoring company performance and identifying deviations from plans.
  • Implementing Eni Planning & Control, Investment, and M&A authorization procedures.
  • Providing support to other teams within the department as required.
  • Performing ad hoc duties as needed.

This is the opportunity for you if you have these skills and requirements:
  • University Degree in Accounting, Economics, Business Management or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in economic and financial modelling and analysis, preferably within regulated infrastructure and/or energy sector.
  • Strong proficiency in economic and financial modelling for project financing.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and commercial frameworks.
  • Familiarity with regulated market dynamics.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work in a team. Flexible and proactive.
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills.
  • Deadline orientated with the ability to work in a structured and methodical manner.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to liaise with all stakeholders, maintaining good interpersonal relationships; proper understanding of ethics and protocol for different functions.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and during weekends may be requested in special circumstances.
