Purpose of the role
At Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, we are driven by our Credo and inspired by the belief of our founder Dr Paul Janssen: ‘The patients are waiting.’ The Value and Access Product Manager is a fantastic role for someone who is commercially astute and is passionate about adding value to the customers they work with ‘beyond the product’. Drives sustainable, commercial growth by delivering value and access tactics across the Immunology brands, that deploy resource to maximise impact and are aligned to the integrated care system & health boards strategic priorities.
Delivers patient access strategies and tactics at national, regional and local levels, that facilitates pathway and system transformation to enable better health outcomes for patients and access to Johnson & Johnson’s innovative medicines across Immunology. Development of the assets, models and tools including but not limited to value propositions for Immunology brands demonstrating above-brand value, to NHS stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As a Value and Access Product Manager, you will be a key member of the local access team in the UK responsible for:
- Developing the value and access marketing strategy across the Immunology brands:
- Co-create the segmentation, targeting and positioning strategies that will deliver system value in partnership with the local access team.
- Support the development of value and market access strategies for existing and new products ensuring full alignment with the brand strategy.
- Develop assets including value propositions to meet customer needs, demonstrating and documenting the financial and non-financial value of key therapy areas.
- Gain timely input from and partner with all internal collaborators (Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Business Intelligence, Clinical Pathway Managers, Patient Access, EMEA).
- Multi-disciplined collaboration with the country value team to align the value and access strategies with the brand plans.
- Ensure that all local market access activities and owners in the launch readiness framework are identified and work with relevant internal partners to achieve local market access launch goals.
- External environment scanning and networking across strategic integrated care systems.
- Engage with key external partners, building and leveraging positive relationships with strategic NHS customers to develop insights on the NHS and external environment.
- Engage with key opinion leaders and strategic decision makers in regional and local ecosystems to optimise the positioning and messaging of Janssen’s brands, services, and solutions.
- Facilitate the co-creation of value propositions with customers to meet their needs.
- Commission market research through agencies and partner with business intelligence to analyse data, build insights and advise materials required to support market access.
- Deliver external insights to the business to advise decision making.
Accountability
Accountable for crafting materials that optimise the execution of the value and access marketing strategy:
- Develop and project manage materials, and marketing and communication campaigns partnering with omnichannel and external creative agencies.
- Develop key value messages and ensure effective communication through omnichannel deployment.
- Lead and craft the commercial strategy at NHS strategic events, positioning Johnson & Johnson as a preferred partner to the NHS.
- Develop customer engagement plans via a range of channels that puts the integrated care systems at the centre.
- Drive balanced growth by crafting localised value propositions, bringing the mindset, skill, and resource of marketing to personalise our approach and improve customer experience.
- Plan marketing mix to optimise channels and tailor content based on the customer need.
- Work in partnership with marketing & omnichannel to plan strategically and deliver personalised, customer-focused, digital engagement solutions.
Who are we looking for?
To excel in this role, we are looking for individuals with:
- Strong market access/payer marketing experience.
- Multichannel marketing experience.
- Deep understanding and curiosity about the NHS and UK healthcare systems.
- Proven experience in balancing multiple sophisticated projects end to end.
- Proven ability to understand and communicate sophisticated and ambiguous themes.
- Excellent stakeholder leadership both internally and external to Janssen.
- Strong collaborative mindset with a desire for commercial accountability.
- Ease operating in high-support and high-challenge environments.
- Experience with ABPI code and approval systems & processes.
- Courage to take decisions with integrity and a compliance attitude.
- Familiarity with NHS data sources.
- Working understanding of reimbursement and funding flows within the NHS.
- Sound knowledge of company strategic drivers & capabilities and how they can be applied to the NHS.
- Ability to influence without authority, proven management experience of multiple internal and external collaborators.
- Dedicated prioritisation skills to deliver on region value and access priorities.
- Ability to manage external suppliers and follow due diligence.
Qualifications
- ABPI Exam Qualified preferred.
- Degree educated or equivalent experience.
- Subject matter expert in partnership working with NHS with excellent process capability.
- Crucial Languages: High level English proficiency.
