Job Overview
As the Head of Marketing for The London Essence Company, you will be responsible for leading and executing the vision and end-to-end brand and innovation program for London Essence in the UK and internationally. You will define the market opportunity and brand strategy, while setting out the on/off trade executional plans to scale the London Essence brand in the lead UK market.
London Essence is a key strategic priority within the exciting Breakthrough Brands division of the newly formed Carlsberg-Britvic UK business, set up to scale fast-growth brands in exciting growth spaces. Alongside responsibility for developing the core Mixers proposition, the role will create a plan to extend the brand into the fast-growing No & Low modern socializing space through new-to-market innovations.
Key Responsibilities
- Brand Strategy and Growth Drivers: Develop the 3-year strategy and activity plan for all commercial channels that enables the brand to achieve its vision and financial delivery.
- Annual Operating Plan: Lead the development and execution of the Annual Plan, bringing this to life across the commercial function to build cross-functional engagement and inspire delivery.
- Value Strategy: Lead the development of a consistent value strategy and pack & price architecture (PPA) in the GB market, project managing the delivery of commercially robust business cases through the stage gate process.
- 360 Communications/Brand Distinctive Assets: Own the end-to-end communications strategy, overseeing the development and deployment of distinctive brand assets and activation collateral across all media (ATL, Digital, Social, PR, Events, Partnerships) and commercial channels (On Trade, Retail, Online) to ensure a synchronized in-market execution of the GB plan.
- Agency Management: Work with the London Essence roster agencies and internal partners across advertising, digital, events, and PR to develop fit-for-purpose programs and collateral for the GB market.
- Product Quality & Development: Own the ongoing proposition development for London Essence packaged and Freshly Infused dispense, working with local and global R&D technical and commercial teams to deliver continuous improvement in both exceptional product quality and market-leading product ranges.
- Innovation: Create a compelling innovation roadmap aligned to consumer, shopper, and category growth drivers.
- International: Work collaboratively with local and 'Above Market' marketing teams to deploy London Essence Brand Strategy and assets to select international markets including Ireland and France.
Requirements
- Demonstrable track record of success within commercial, matrix organization environments, especially leading, influencing, and inspiring cross-functional teams including senior management through to PLC board level.
- Evidence of creating and managing a holistic omni-channel brand strategy.
- Extensive experience gained within a premium branded environment, preferably FMCG.
- Experience in leading agency partners to deliver world-class marketing communications programs and assets on time and with excellence, to change consumer and shopper behavior.
- Proven experience in leading strategic brand and business planning with sound evidence of consumer and shopper insight-led strategy implementation.
- Consistent track record of creating great ideas that have driven real value in the market.
- High level of Brand P&L value management experience, able to demonstrate good commercial judgment to maximize brand profitability and enhance margin.
- Demonstrates strong relationships with local and international teams to achieve stretching goals.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate with impact and persuasion to win support both internally with senior stakeholders and externally with customers and partners to unlock support and sponsorship of the London Essence program.
- Strong project management, planning, and delivery skills with confidence to make tough calls and ruthlessly prioritize.
- Direct team line management experience with proven ability to inspire, grow, and develop people but also ability to manage difficult conversations when required.
- Experience of A&P Budget control at portfolio and brand level.
- Exceptional presentation skills that build the brand reputation via Trade press/industry.
