Electrical Engineering Manager – Contract (Outside IR35) -89719

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to provide leadership and direction on complex engineering projects, delivering high-quality design solutions. This client-facing role offers the chance to shape and drive strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence while optimising project performance across a range of industries.

The Role:

As Electrical Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading all aspects of electrical design, from initial concept through to final delivery. You will provide expert guidance and technical oversight, ensuring project objectives are met while upholding safety, quality, and budgetary standards. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering collaboration across departments, engaging with clients, and maintaining high engineering and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and technical expertise, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions.
• Project Oversight: Manage the end-to-end delivery of electrical engineering projects, ensuring designs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Client Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong relationships to support project success.
• Resource Coordination: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure the necessary skills and capacity are in place to meet project demands.
• Technical Oversight: Provide expert guidance in the development of electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
• Quality & Risk Management: Oversee the development of design justification reports and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring all technical risks are identified and addressed.
• Budget & Schedule Management: Take ownership of project budgets and timelines, ensuring effective cost and resource management.
• Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Manage relationships with external suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring they meet technical and quality standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance engineering processes, quality, and efficiency across the department.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A relevant Engineering Degree (e.g., Electrical Engineering) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
• Proven experience in electrical design and engineering leadership.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and project schedules effectively.
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Membership of an appropriate technical/professional body.
• Experience with HVAC control systems.
• Knowledge of HAZOP/HAZID processes.
• Familiarity with IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health and safety qualifications.

Working Arrangements:

• Hybrid working model – office-based 2 days every fortnight.
• 9-day working fortnight – offering flexibility and work-life balance.
