German Speaking Credit Controller
Location: Kingswinford, West Midlands (office based, there may be a need to go to one of the German offices on occasion)
Salary: £28 - 30k per annum
Our client is a leading company in the manufacturing industry and is seeking to employ a German Speaking Credit Controller.
Purpose of Position
The purpose of this role is to work on the German ledgers across Europe. This role is based in Kingswinford and is part of the Finance Shared Services Team.
Reports to: Credit Control Supervisor
Key Responsibilities
- Shared Responsibility for Europe, RoW and UK Sales Ledgers for chasing aged debt, but the main focus will be on German debt.
- Maintenance of Sales Ledger(s).
- Chasing customers for cash, raising and sending dunning letters, agreeing next steps and taking customers legal where required.
- Customer query resolution, including chasing up other departments for action.
- Managing the Credit Control emails.
- Requesting and/or raising credit notes, as required.
- Open pro-forma accounts, as required.
- Performing credit checks, as required.
- Cash posting to the ledger and settlement of open transactions.
- Invoicing customers, as required.
- Organising and providing relevant paperwork/backup with certain types of invoices.
- Running, and updating weekly reports and sending out to internal stakeholders.
- Critical review of processes and playing an active role in the continuous improvement within the Team.
Personal SpecificationEssential- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
- Experience working in high volume credit control department.
- Prior experience of working within a fast paced, complex manufacturing business and within a European SSC environment.
- Experience chasing German debt and progressing legal cases where agreed.
- Good knowledge of Excel and Word.
- High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly customer focused, tenacious and results driven to resolve queries.
- Financially and commercially aware.
- Proactive.
- Team player.
Desirable- Experience in MS Access, AX and D365.
Must hold a valid passport as some travel may be required.
