Design CAD Technician

JOB- CAD Design Engineer

LOCATION- Blackpool

TERM- Permanent

SALARY- £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience

My client designs, manufactures and installs specialist metal products. They are looking to take on a CAD Design Engineer on a permanent basis in Blackpool.

The CAD Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

1. 2-4 years' experience in a similar CAD Operation / Design Engineering / Mechanical Engineering position
2. Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Revit etc.
3. Any previous experience working with bespoke metalwork, stainless steel, fabricated parts or similar would be beneficial
4. Any previous experience of working with a variety of materials and manufacturing processes would be beneficial
5. Have a positive outlook and keen willingness to learn
6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
7. Proficient using MS Office
8. Excellent organisational skills and time management skills
9. Have the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team
10. Have a full UK Driving Licence and access to a car

The CAD Design Engineer role will involve:

1. Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
2. Producing 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor CAD software and 2D designs with AutoCAD
3. Liaising with manufacturing providers
4. Being involved in final assembly of products
5. Creating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plans
6. Updating 3D models and drawings
7. Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
8. Checking drawings for sign off
9. Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
