Formworks and Scaffolding Contractor seeking experienced and business-minded Design Engineer to work on large buildings and infrastructure projects in Toronto. Salary $85,000 - $120,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role. The Design Engineer is an integral member of the project team. They will supervise and/or carry out engineering designs to meet client needs and ensure they meet corporate and professional engineering and safety standards, focusing on structural works including formwork and scaffolding requirements.

• Supervise, co-ordinate and/or conduct complex design/engineering assignments on multiple projects.
• Monitor work schedule to ensure work is completed on time.
• Review work for accuracy, completeness, and to ensure it meets technical specifications as well as company standards.
• Provide technical support/training for less experienced engineers, trainees, and designers.
• Check, review, and approve application drawings.
• Visit construction project sites and carry out inspections as required.
• Work closely with sales representatives on engineering designs that utilize products.
• Provide backup support to senior engineer and engineer manager.
• Occasional travel to branch offices to provide engineering support in those locations.
• Provide technical guidance to designers and to less experienced engineers.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent, with appropriate license.
• Full membership in a recognized professional engineering association.
• Minimum of seven (7) or more years of postgraduate working experience in the relevant field, preferably in shoring, forming, and access scaffolding applications or similar products.

• Must possess a professional engineering license.
