ACTING CLASSES FOR ADULTS—COCA
Winter/Spring 2025 Session
Classes are open to both experienced and inexperienced students.
Instructor: David Wassilak
Schedule: Mondays 7:30 – 8:55 pm
Duration: January 27 – May 5 (14 Weeks)
Age: 18 and up
In this class, students learn introductory acting exercises and to transfer their skills to the camera. Basic on-camera techniques across a variety of styles are explored, including film, television, and commercials. No previous training required.
Schedule: Saturdays 11:00 am – 12:25 pm
Duration: January 25 – May 3 (14 Weeks)
Age: 18 and up
In this class, students engage in acting exercises and scene work to help them increase their focus and active listening, discover physical action, and define acting objectives within the text. They develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform two-person and three-person scenes as well as monologues. No previous training required.
Schedule: Saturdays 12:30 – 1:55 pm
Duration: January 25 – May 3 (14 Weeks)
Age: 18 and up
In this class, students engage in ensemble and scene work to help them increase active listening and define acting objectives within text. They further develop vocal range and articulation while participating in ensemble and character development work. During the semester, students rehearse and perform monologues, and two-person and three-person scenes from classic and contemporary plays.
Prerequisite: Adult Acting or instructor approval is required as a prerequisite for Adult Acting II.

Instructor Background: David Wassilak is a St. Louis based actor, director, and producer. He was previously the Associate Artistic Director and a co-founder of St. Louis Actors’ Studio, a co-founder and producer for The Midnight Company, and an Associate Artistic Director for Orthwein Theatre Company. David has received numerous accolades including Outstanding Supporting Actor by The St. Louis Theater Circle and Best Actor in the 2006 St. Louis 48 Hour Film Project. He appears in the films Bad Grandmas, The Man in Room 6, and The Box.
