POSITION FUNCTION
Perform building maintenance and repair functions at City owned and leased buildings and grounds.
KEY DUTIES
Perform related duties where qualified.
INDEPENDENCE
Work is performed according to established maintenance procedures and schedules, requests for service or is assigned by supervisor. Work is reviewed through meetings with, or reports to supervisor. Issues such as major expenditure or deviations from established procedures practices are referred to supervisor.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort: Lift and move heavy materials and equipment. (often) Work in awkward positions. (often) Work in confined spaces. (often)
Mental Effort: Short periods of intense concentration while working on complex maintenance systems. (occasional)
Visual/Auditory Effort: Focus on a variety of source data and computer for short periods. (occasional)
Work Environment: Work from heights. (often) Work in an environment where protective measures must be taken to avoid exposure to equipment noise, heat, dust and fumes. KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:
Experience: 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER: May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
