MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Department: Facilities & Construction

Location: Calgary, AB (#400, 229 - 33rd Street NE Calgary, Alberta T2A 4Y6)

Type of employment: Permanent, Full Time (40 hours)

THE ROLE

We are currently hiring for a Maintenance Technician to join our Western Canada Maintenance Team. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/ Territory Service Manager, the Maintenance Technician will maintain store operations. In this role you will be responsible for conducting preventative maintenance primarily on Frozen Beverage Equipment, repairing Convenience Store equipment and general maintenance work in stores.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Perform Preventative Maintenance on Frozen Beverage units.
• Maintain equipment by troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Maintain facilities by performing light electrical, plumbing, carpentry, roofing, cleaning, lighting work.
• Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
• Ensure preventative repairs are performed cost effectively by examining records, reports operating practices and other documentation.
• Participate in training classes for existing and new equipment.
• Ensure maintenance operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operation policies and procedures.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reading professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by abiding by safety policies and procedures; ensuring compliance with federal, state and local requirements.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

We want you to join our team! Here's what we're looking for:

Education:

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience in the maintenance field.
• 1-2 years’ experience in C-store Preventative Maintenance, food service repairs, plumbing or HVAC/refrigeration preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities and ability to work independently.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and be insurable as a driver.
• Highly organized and work well under pressure/deadlines with the ability to multi-task.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to crouch, crawl, push, pull, bend, stoop and/or reach.
• Ability to carry, erect and climb ladders.
• Ability to lift as much as 80 pounds.
