About the job
As part of the Danone North American Cycles and Procurement (C&P) team, the primary purpose of this position is to support the Engineering & Operations teams in the procurement of materials/services needed in Capital Projects (CAPEX) in all North American plants and will support the Boucherville QC factory in Maintenance Repair Operations (MRO).
This role requires a collaborative approach, commercial aptitude, technical acumen, curiosity, and empathy.
Please consider the below as the main points in the selection of the right candidate:
- Develop and launch RFQs / RFPs (Request for Quotation/Proposal) to select suppliers in targeted categories.
- Analyze proposals and make recommendations to key internal upper management stakeholders.
- Negotiate GTCP’s (General Terms and Conditions of Purchasing) with new vendors.
- Manage suppliers to ensure business needs are met and maintain Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) to improve supplier performance. Lead category QBR.
- In conjunction with sourcing leadership, develop and implement performance indicators, monitor suppliers, and support continuous improvement.
Strategies
- Define sourcing strategy through market studies to identify best practices, identify gaps, risks, and opportunities as well as to identify new suppliers and develop a robust supplier base.
- Execute the sourcing strategy of Capex equipment, in collaboration with the engineering teams, and with a direct link with business needs.
- Propose best quality, time, and cost solutions according to strategies or propose new and existing suppliers.
Project Management
- Support and lead productivity projects by respecting the budgets/schedules/quality standards of Danone.
- Participate in Global initiatives led by Group Danone to implement cost out and value generation.
- Develop a sustainable process between the business unit and supplier’s teams with a focus on delivering key operations objectives.
- Facilitate and drive sourcing decisions through development and implementation of appropriate tools and processes.
Budget & Productivity Management
- Support activities to increase spend visibility and understanding.
- Manage overall spend for Capex spend.
- Update/Create, maintain, and animate clear tools to track the performance of the Capex sourcing team of North America.
About you
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Business, operations management, or a related field of study such as engineering.
- Must have 3 – 5+ years of related experience in procurement, engineering, or supply chain.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally between 20-40%.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and lead change by engaging people.
- Strong desire to achieve results.
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong analytical skillset (i.e., proficiency within Microsoft suite, Excel, Power BI, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Understanding of contractual terms and conditions.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced cross-functional, multi-cultural, matrix environment.
- Rigorous data analysis capability and financial acumen (i.e., Microsoft suite, Excel, Power BI, & PowerPoint).
