We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Commercial Real Estate/Banking and Finance Paralegal to join our firm.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a solid understanding of Commercial Real Estate transactions. Prior experience acting for Lenders on real estate backed financing transactions would be a definite asset. This role manages multiple real estate and finance files effectively, conducts essential due diligence searches, Real Property and Personal Property registrations, and assists with legal drafting.

The successful candidate is a graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant or Paralegal program (equivalencies will be considered) with 2 or more years of experience with commercial real estate and financing transactions.

Responsibilities include:

• Obtaining, reviewing and interpreting due diligence searches such as corporate searches, land titles; Personal Property Registry, Tax Certificates, etc.
• Drafting documents, such as letters, security agreements, loan agreements, and mortgages, and performing review and revision as necessary.
• Maintaining an efficient file system (physical and electronic files) utilizing strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Managing multiple files simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and diarizing efficiently.
• Completing registrations including but not limited to DRR’s at Land Titles and/or PPR Registrations with APPRES.
• Preparing reporting letters in respect to the transaction(s) and reporting to clients.
• Collaborating with team members to ensure effective communication and workflow.

Qualifications

• Two (or more) years of proven experience as a Paralegal in a similar role within a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Advanced Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and document management software;
• Proficiency in legal drafting and document preparation.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
