As our new Senior Director of Environmental Services and Facilities you will:
- Be accountable for all aspects of facilities and environmental services including housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, safe and secure home, emergency procedures, facilities management, property maintenance, landscape maintenance and capital renewal in both LTC and Retirement.
- Lead and oversee the successful opening and stabilization of new properties.
- Develop and implement both short-term and long-term strategies for facilities management and capital renovation/renewal projects.
- Create, maintain and implement policies and strategies for environmental services, safe and secure home, and emergency procedures.
- Manage the entire lifecycle of capital renovation projects, including budgeting, scheduling, conducting deficiency walkthroughs, and overseeing quality control.
- Develop and manage budgets for renovation projects, capital renewal and property maintenance activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial accountability.
- Provide leadership, guidance, training, and support to directors and regional managers and implement best practices, strategies and standards for products, equipment and services related to facilities and environmental services.
- Review and create administrative programs and practices within the department to leverage purchasing power and economies of scale, proactively determining strategies for the best long-term return on investment.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory obligations as set forth in the Occupational Health & Safety Act, including health & safety regulations, WHMIS, workplace violence policies, TSSA, and MSDS.
- Stay abreast and compliant with all applicable regulations and updates, including those from the Ministry of Long-Term Care, the Retirement Homes Act, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver the highest quality of service to our residents, visitors, and team members through comprehensive and effective support.
It would be an asset if you have:
- Extensive experience in facilities management and capital asset management, preferably within the senior living sector.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale renovation projects and budgets.
- Strong servant leadership skills and experience in managing diverse teams.
- The ability to travel within your region and across Ontario as required.
- Deep knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and decision-making skills.
