Job Description:The Crypto Development team (Dev-Crypto) is responsible to provide Cryptography services, security development, production support and key management to multiple channels and consuming applications. We provide design and development solutions, expert advice and counsel in key management, and cryptographic services to multiple channels like Debit and Credit Cards, Mobile, Phone and Online Channels, and Branch consuming applications.
Crypto and Cloud Security embarked on a multi-year security transformation program. This role presents an opportunity to design, develop and automate crypto and security related capabilities to multiple products. We are looking for a talented lead engineer with information security and cryptography experience to join the team to build innovative solutions, ensure security standards and best practices are met.
- Being a part of the Dev-Crypto technology team, responsible for hands-on development of automated data transfer processes and application integration with RESTful APIs. This might include building APIs.
- Design and build innovative solutions for data in rest and data in transit encryption requirements.
- Act as a Technical Lead who can take end to end responsibility of design/development, estimates required for planning, collaborate efficiently with other engineers and developers.
- Identify opportunities and analyze scenarios to provide scalable solutions.
- Utilize standard frameworks to design, build and support our applications.
- Actively participate in meetings of multiple workstreams, coordinate with all cross functional team members and contribute to solutioning to meet business and technical requirements.
- If required, conduct (or participate in) proof of concept on new technologies, security solutions, vendor products.
- As required, participate in hands-on development work, code peer reviews, code check-ins according to best practices and work with developers.
- Possess ability to break-down functional requirements into technical requirements by creating appropriate technical solutions and create documentation.
- Able to troubleshoot and provide solutions for post-production defects and issues.
- Participate in design discussions on scalability, performance, security, best practices.
- Conducts pre and post implementation reviews, ensuring all technical solutions have met business requirements and technical specifications and crypto standards.
- Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise in own area and keep current with emerging industry trends, new technologies and best practices in the external market that can contribute to delivering effective client solutions.
- Assignments might be highly complex and multi-faceted.
- Able to coach/educate a small team of IT professionals.
- Reviews, defines, enforces and influences standards and appropriate quality measures/metrics.
Technical Requirements- Capable of applying best practices to design and develop solutions for data in rest and data in transit encryption, Crypto as a Service (CaaS) solutions.
- Knowledge of various cryptographic and encryption technologies and standards (Symmetric/Asymmetric cryptography, Public Key cryptography, Digital signing service) preferred.
- Strong background in system design, development, architecture, application deployment.
- Expert knowledge of the technical environment/ tools (e.g., user environment, applications, software, hardware, programming languages and operating systems)
- Experience in API build and application integration with RESTful APIs, Web services.
- Fluent in writing effective and scalable Java and Python code.
- Proficient in AngularJS, NodeJS, JavaScript, PL/SQL.
- Skilled in system-level architecture, like Linux, Unix and Windows.
- Expertise in Application Servers like JBoss, Websphere, Tomcat. Liberty an asset.
- Expert knowledge of Spring, Springboot, Hibernate.
- Experience and sound knowledge of Microsoft Azure. Working knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud an asset.
- Experience in the development practices, processes and use of EDP Pipeline.
- Experience with tools like Jenkins, ServiceNow, GitHub, Bitbucket, Datadog, SonarCube, Jira and Confluence
- Knowledge of DB2, MongoDB, IMS DB an asset.
- Knowledge of Mainframe, especially ICSF Crypto engine a strong asset.

Education & Experience:- Undergraduate degree, Post Graduate degree or Technical Certificate.
- Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering).
- 5-7 years of related experience.
- CISSP certification or other certifications in cryptography a strong asset (e.g.ECES).
Hybrid:2 days in the office per week
