Position Title: Junior Civil Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Civil Engineer to join our team in British Columbia. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting senior engineers in the design, planning, and construction of civil engineering projects, ensuring that each project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team under the guidance and direct supervision of the Engineer of Record to develop engineering products that meet quality standards, budgetary constraints, and project timelines.
- Prepare designs of municipal roads, water, sanitary, storm systems, drainage, and grading.
- This includes:
- Design drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D (plans, profiles, cross-sections, surface designs) for water, storm, and sanitary piping, roadways, and site grading, incorporating topographic surveys into the design and as-built surveys into record drawings.
- Preparing specifications, contract documents, and construction cost estimates.
- Developing technical memorandums, reports, and proposals.
- Conduct construction site inspections and prepare corresponding reports.
- Develop proposals, including work plans, cost estimates, and schedules using MS Project.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or Engineer in Training (EIT) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of experience, with 3-5 years preferred, in a civil engineering design role related to municipal roads, water, sanitary, storm systems, drainage, and grading.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, PCSWMM, EPA NET, EPA SWMM, Microsoft Office.
- Technical Skills: Experience with civil engineering design, hydraulic modeling, planning, and construction inspection.
- Working knowledge of preparing contract documentation using MMCD and CCDC.
- Soft Skills: Excellent writing skills for the preparation of memorandums, technical reports, and proposals.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, subconsultants, contractors, and clients.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.

- Other Requirements: Valid BC Class V Driver's License.
